As part of its Light Oil Market Access Program, which seeks to expand access to markets for growing volumes of North Dakota and western Canada light oil production, Enbridge is proposing to construct the Southern Access Extension pipeline: a 165-mile, 24-inch diameter pipeline from Flanagan, Illinois (where it will interconnect with Enbridge’s Lakehead System) to a Patoka, Illinois. The target in-service date for the approximately $0.8 billion pipeline is early 2015.
The binding open commitment period for available capacity on the Southern Access Extension pipeline was closed at 3 p.m. MST Friday, January 18.
